"Pacifying Behaviors" are signs that someone is stressed about something you are doing/asking or that they are deciding on. One obvious sign that someone is stressed is the rubbing of the neck. This can be a short rub/scratch to a full blown rubbing of the neck and hairline. Woman often touch their upper chest and neck area and play with their hair. Be aware of this the next time you are pitching a product or service. If they are soothing themselves, they may have had enough of you or the situation. Also, this is a great "tell" in poker when someone has to make a tough decision!

Last months trivia question asked
what's the difference between sleight of hand, slide of hand and slight of hand.

Well, this was a "trick" question. There is no such thing as Slide of Hand or Slight of Hand. People often mistake which word to use when saying "Sleight of Hand". It is understandable too! Slide of Hand lends itself to "sliding" a card with the fingers and being tricky... Slight of Hand makes sense due to the idea of being very delicate and having a slight touch with cards or objects. However, the real word is "sleight". Sleight means to be cunning and/or use dexterity to deceive. It comes from Old English meaning "sly".

Got the impression we're in a recession? -Here's a confession keeping me from depression! I have been blessed with an overwhelming amount of quality events this year. From celebrity and VIP events in LA and Montecito to weekday private parties and consulting with other entertainers! I've enjoyed several months of solid events around the west coast on every day of the week. Thanks a million for all the great referrals and support! Although I'm working hard on some side projects with books and DVDs, having the ability to perform at appropriate events during a Tuesday or Wednesday night is awesome during this belt tightening time for so many companies.

This section is devoted to exploring event tip ideas or sharing upcoming events. Most of my events have been quite private, however, there are a couple small ones coming up that you might find interesting.

What's the difference between Bicycle Cards vs. paper cards, air cushion finish vs. standard paper cards, etc. What is the difference between grades and types of cards?

Ever tried to parallel park along a busy street? Does it drive you nuts when you pull up to correctly back into the space and the car behind you doesn't seem to understand the concept and pulls right up to your butt? Aggrr! Or worse yet, they "think" you didn't notice the sweet parking space available and try to pull straight into it as you are preparing to back up!

Thanks to Shane Wright for his support of Big Brothers Big Sisters and out talent show! He did an awesome job as a volunteer for our Farmers Market auditions!
